Today was our last day of teaching for the week, as tomorrow we will be departing for Kodaikanal and a long deserved rest.
I awoke for breakfast having decided to over sleep, missing the morning run but feeling eager to finish the day. I was looking forward to being away from teaching for a few days as I was finally appreciating its difficulty.
Kodaikanal, the hill station where we will be staying, is apparently the coldest place in the whole of Tamil Nadu and will be a welcome relief from the heat of Sankarnagar.
The lessons went by quickly as I focused on nouns, adjectives and verbs. Before I knew it lunch had arrived and I could look forward to even more curry. Lessons continued as usual throughout the afternoon and I was looking forward to the end of the day for some rest and relaxation. In music, we continued to practise our songs for the final performance and Jesus, the music teacher, was able to give a diverse cultural twist on the distinctly English songs.
We returned to handball practice today, keen to hone our skills for the planned big game on Monday. This time we split into girls and boys, instead of a mixed team and on both occasions we were able to win our matches, proving that Miss Fitz's training had paid off.
Tomorrow we can await a well earned break and spend our time relaxing in one of the most amazing places in the world.
